Missing woman may be victim of foul play: police
Police in Edmonton now believe a young woman, who they say worked as an escort, may have been the victim of foul play.
Chantel Brittnay Robertson, 20, was last seen around 2:30 a.m.Saturday when she was dropped off at a client's residence.
Police are now searching two homes on the city's south side, including the house Robertson was last seen entering.
Several people have been interviewed and one man is in custody.
Robertson is described as five-foot-two, 125 pounds, with dirty blond or dark brown shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black jeans, black boots and a white shirt.
Police began their investigation into her disappearance early Sunday morning.
Robertson's cellphone is turned off and she did not show up for work on Sunday, which police say is "highly unusual."
Project Kare, the joint RCMP-Edmonton city police task force, has been notified but Edmonton police are handling the investigation.
Project Kare was set up in 2003 to investigate the unsolved deaths and disappearances of Edmonton-area women who lived high-risk lifestyles.
