A man was found dead behind the wheel of a black SUV parked in a cul-de-sac in northwest Edmonton Thursday evening.

The man, who appears to be in his late twenties, was discovered around 7:30 p.m. at by two residents out for a walk in the Canossa neighbourhood, close to 113th Street and 167A Avenue.

The man had "obvious trauma" to his body,  Insp. Brian Nowlan said. Investigators suspect a second vehicle may have been involved.

"There is some evidence of the vehicle having been driven rather erratically," Nowlan said. "It actually mounted a curb just prior to coming to rest where it is right now.

"There is also some evidence that there may be other tire tracks."

Police consider the death to be suspicious. Investigators are canvassing the neighbourhood to see if anyone heard or saw anything.
