Grande Prairie firefighters battle large industrial fire
Police are telling people in Grande Prairie to stay away from an industrial area, where a major fire is burning.
Residents asked to avoid area over concerns of toxic smoke
Firefighters in Grande Prairie have contained a large industrial fire that started around noon today in a steel building in an industrial area.
Investigators are on the scene but don't yet know what caused the fire, said Capt. Steve Larson.
Nobody was hurt in the fire but RCMP are telling people to continue to stay away from the area.
Roadblocks were set up while fire crews fought the fire at Convoy Supply in the area of 112th Street and 89th Avenue.
Police were initially worried that toxic chemicals may have been burned in the fire, but now say that's not the case.
