It was a shocking wake-up call for the owner of a Saturn in west Edmonton Monday morning.

Brian Fortuin parked his car Sunday on the street, near 156th Street and 96th Avenue.
Police knocked at his door at around 6:30 a.m. Monday telling him his "car has been smushed," he said.
He accompanied police to the street, thinking it was little more than a fender-bender.
"It was a pretty big shock," he said. "Half the car is totally pancaked."
His car, a Saturn, had been compacted by a garbage truck.
Police are still investigating what caused the garbage truck to roll, but Fortuin believes it may have been going too fast to make the corner.
