From the Saddledome to Falun, Alberta

The outdoor rink in Falun, Alta. has a unique claim to fame — the boards and the glass used to be in the Calgary Saddledome.

When the Pigeon Lake Athletic Cultural Educational [PLACE] Society decided to replace the community's old condemned rink, a company out of Cochrane connected them with the old boards.

"They showed us some new rink solutions ... they also mentioned in passing that they had the old rink out of the Saddledome that was taken out sometime between 2005 and 2007," said Travis Brittain with PLACE Society.
