Fire rubble yields 2 bodies

Two bodies were found inside a home in northern Alberta following a fire early Saturday morning, High Level RCMP say.

Two bodies were found inside a home in northern Alberta following a fire early Saturday morning, according to High Level RCMP.

Police were called to the Child Lake First Nation by a 911 call received in the early morning hours.

Police tried to enter the burning home to see whether anyone was inside, but were stopped by the flames. Police found two bodies in the rubble after the fire was extinguished.

The identities of the victims has not been determined, nor has the cause of the fire or cause of death.

The Edson and Peace River major crimes units are investigating, along with the Peace River Forensic Identification Unit and the fire examiner's office.   Anyone with information is asked to call the High Level RCMP at 780-926-2226 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
