When asked for a favorite Edmonton spot, Justin Trudeau singled out the 124th St. bakery and cafe

Edmonton's Duchess Bake Shop  is renowned for its macarons, cakes and exquisite French pastries.

And now one of its most famous fans is giving it a shout-out.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau singled out the bakery on 124th Street as a highlight of his visits to Edmonton.

He stopped there while he was campaigning with Edmonton Centre MP Randy Boissonnault in the last election.

"As many pastries I bring home from the Duchess, I never bring enough," he told CBC's Edmonton AM host Mark Connolly Wednesday. "It's wonderful."

Edmonton's own Duchess Bake Shop ranked #4 in Buzzfeed's list of bakeries to visit before you die. (CBC)
