A car struck a house and caught fire on Connors Road near 93rd Avenue early Monday morning.

Neighbour Marie Walsh said she was in bed when she heard the crash at about 4:40 a.m.

Her boyfriend called 911 and she ran outside to help the driver.

"He got out of the car on his own," she said. "The neighbours threw water on the car ... then they were just grabbing buckets and bowls of water."

"The fire was going up the side of the house on the siding, coming from the car ... the whole hood of the car was in flames."

A corner of the house was damaged. There is no word on the condition of the driver.
