Amber Alert for Edmonton boy cancelled after child found safe
An off-duty Calgary police officer spotted the boy and his mother while driving and she was arrested by RCMP
The Edmonton boy at the centre of an Amber Alert has been found safe.
Edmonton police tweeted early Saturday that the eight-year-old was found unharmed near Okotoks — just south of Calgary — about 5:30 a.m. MT.
An off-duty Calgary police officer spotted the boy and his mother while driving. The mother was arrested by RCMP.
Police said earlier they believed the boy was taken by his mother on Friday afternoon.
The boy will now be returned to his father, they said.
