12-year-old girl hit in St. Albert crosswalk

St. Albert RCMP are investigating after a 12-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle at the corner of Boudreau Road and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue Tuesday morning just before eight o’clock.

Driver facing charges after girl sent to hospital with minor injuries

St. Albert RCMP are investigating after a 12-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle at the corner of Boudreau Road and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue just before 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. 

Police say the girl had been walking east along Sir Winston Churchill Avenue when she was struck in crosswalk by a 2005 red Chevrolet Blazer driven by a 53-year-old woman.

The girl was sent to the Sturgeon Hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the driver will be charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
