1 dead in apartment fire northwest of downtown Edmonton

One person is dead after an apartment fire early Tuesday morning in Westmount.

30 suites evacuated in fire near 106th Avenue and 122nd Street

One man is dead after an apartment fire early Tuesday morning in Westmount.

Firefighters were called out around 5 a.m. to a complex at 106th Avenue and 122nd Street. 

About 70 people were evacuated from the four-floor walk up.

The victim believed to be about 30 years old was found in a third-floor suite.

No other injuries were reported and officials say the fire damage was largely contained to the one suite.
