Costs mounting for North Battleford's bad water crisis
The water crisis this spring has cost North Battleford at least $300 thousand.
And, that figure is going to rise as legal fees pile up at the public inquiry into the disaster.
North Battleford's director of finance, Edna Logan, says those extra costs will be significant. "Legal services are only in to the end of July. I expect the costs will exceed another $100 thousand.", says Logan.
Another major cost still to be factored in is the $90 an hour from a consultant which has been working with the city since April.
However, revenues from water sales did not go down, as some would expect. While people weren't drinking the water, they were still watering their lawns and gardens.
