Police in Calgary have released a sketch of the suspect and pictures of the shoes he left behind after a man sexually assaulted a woman in her northeast home Wednesday night.

The culprit allegedly broke into a residence in the 5800 block of Maddock Drive N.E. just after 3 a.m. while the woman was asleep.

Police said the suspect is a 25- to 30-year-old thin-built white man.  He weighs about 150 lbs and has a medium complexion.

He had short, light-brown hair, dark eyes and wore a blue or grey T-shirt and dark pants.

"Articles of clothing are very useful for obtaining DNA of the culprit," said acting staff Sgt. Jeff MacQueen from the sex crimes unit.

"So we'll be submitting these shoes to the crime lab and hopefully developing a DNA profile."

After the attack the suspect fled in an older, compact, dark, regular-cab truck, police said.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the sex crimes tip line at 403-206-8175, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
