Problems stop the presses again for Calgary Herald
Production issues at newly outsourced printing operation results in shortage of papers
The Calgary Herald and the National Post were not fully delivered on Thursday morning because of recurring printing problems, officials say.
The Herald said significant press issues overnight at Transcontinental Printing were to blame for the glitch.
“Postmedia and the Calgary Herald sincerely apologize to readers and advertisers as we continue to work through the growing pains of a new production system,” the Herald said in an email to subscribers.
This is the second time in two weeks the Herald has had printing problems.
Papers were also not delivered on Nov. 28.
In September, Postmedia announced it was outsourcing the job of printing the local and national papers to Transcontinental.
An online e-paper version of the paper was made available for free for the day.
