Two men are in custody after a carjacking on Tuesday night in Saddletowne in the city's northeast.

A woman was returning to her car in the parking lot at the Safeway on Saddletowne Circle N.E. at about 8:15 p.m. when she was shoved away by one man who grabbed her keys, police say.

He drove away in her vehicle while a second suspect followed in another vehicle.

A police HAWCS helicopter — already in the skies for a training operation — tracked the suspects until they stopped at a Calgary Co-op in Taradale, where officers arrested them.
