Okotoks RCMP patrol car rammed by stolen vehicle

Okotoks RCMP are asking for help from the public as they investigate the ramming of a patrol car by a stolen SUV early Tuesday.

Okotoks RCMP are asking for help from the public as they investigate the ramming of a patrol car by a stolen SUV. 

Between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, RCMP officers were dispatched to the Safeway parking lot on Big Rock Lane to investigate a suspicious vehicle.

As an officer approached the suspect vehicle on foot, the driver rammed the passenger side of the patrol car. The suspect vehicle fled the scene northbound on Northridge Drive, according to an RCMP press release.

No one sustained injuries during the incident.

The vehicle in question was reported to be a black Land Rover with an Alberta licence plate, DFA 325. RCMP confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

Okotoks RCMP request public assistance with any dashcam video that may have captured the incident.​

Anyone with information is asked to contact Okotoks RCMP at 403-995-6400 or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
