Motorcycle rider dead after accident on Stampede grounds
53-year-old lost control of bike while exiting parking area
Police say a 53-year-old man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle while exiting the Stampede grounds parking lot on Thursday evening.
He lost control as he approached the pay booth and came off the bike, but continued to slide and hit some concrete barriers.
Police say it appears excessive speed was a factor in the crash and the man's injuries suggest he was not wearing a helmet.
