Medicine Hat College is suspending intakes to four of its academic programs due to budget problems.

Medicine Hat College is suspending intakes to four of its academic programs.

The programs impacted are the bachelor of applied science, global tourism, education assistant and massage
therapy.

In a release, the southern Alberta college said the move is a result of budget pressures.

Vice-president of academic Michael Gillespie said the decision was based on employer needs, student demand and industry accreditation. Its final budget will be completed in June.
