Calgary Police have a man in custody after a sexual assault near a C-Train station.

Police say the woman in her forties was attacked behind some shrubs at the corner of 17th Avenue and Centre Street on Sunday night.

The victim had met the suspect earlier near the Victoria Park/Stampede C-train station, after attending a concert.

Police were alerted after witnesses heard her screams and came to her rescue. The man ran off.

Late Tuesday afternoon, police released an image of a man whom they said they wanted to talk to about the case.

On Wednesday a man turned himself in to police.

Police said charges of sexual assault and unlawful confinement are pending. But the suspect won't be named until the charges are laid.
