Impaired driver in crash that killed taxi driver, passenger awaits bail decision
Judge to make bail decision in case of 20-year-old man charged with impaired driving after a taxi driver and his passenger were killed earlier this month.

A 20-year-old man charged with impaired driving causing death after a taxi driver and his female passenger were killed will stay in jail until a judge makes a decision on bail.

The man is accused of running a red light on Macleod Trail and 12th Avenue southeast on May 2, killing two people. An SUV hit a small car that in turn hit a taxi.
The 46-year-old taxi driver, Amritpal Kharbanda died at the scene and his 25-year-old passenger, Jillian Lavalee died in hospital hours later. The driver left behind a wife and two children.
The bail decision will be released on Wednesday.
