2 dead, 4 seriously hurt in Highway 1 crash between Revelstoke and Golden, B.C.

Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden, B.C., was closed in both directions after a serious crash Saturday.

Highway reopened at 4:20 p.m.

Two people were killed and four others seriously hurt after a crash on Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden, B.C., Saturday.

RCMP said two people, a man and a woman from Delta, B.C., were killed in the two vehicle collision. 

B.C. Emergency Health Services said they responded to the crash at 11:05 a.m. MT with three ground crews and two air ambulances. 

They said four people were transported to hospital, two in critical condition and two in serious condition. 

The Highway was closed in both directions for about four hours, and has since reopened. 

Police, along with the B.C. Coroners Service, are investigating the cause of the crash.
