Fire destroyed a home in the northeast Calgary community of Beddington on Wednesday.

Fire destroyed a home in the northeast Calgary community of Beddington on Wednesday.

Crews were called to the house on Bedridge Road N.E. shortly before 3 p.m.

The roof of the house has collapsed but firefighters were able to contain the flames, and there was no damage to nearby homes.

Nobody was home at the time and a neighbour did manage to rescue two dogs.

Investigators are still on the scene to try and determine what caused the fire.
