Disaster assistance offered for summer storms
The program will compensate for overland flooding and groundwater seepage that happened because of severe weather on July 20 and July 26, 2010, officials said in a release.
The provincial Disaster Recovery Program is being coordinated by the city through the Calgary Emergency Management Agency.
"Disaster recovery programs are designed to provide financial assistance for those items essential for day-to-day living that are not covered already by property insurance," the written release said.
