Coronation Street on holidays for duration of Olympic Games
Popular show will resume Aug. 22

Coronation Street is taking a holiday for the Olympic Games.
The show won't air on CBC Television from Aug. 6 to Aug. 21 — the duration of the Games.
But for Corrie fans looking to catch up, there will be two back-to-back episodes at 7 p.m. (7:30 p.m. in Newfoundland) on weeknights until Aug. 4 and again from Aug. 22 to Sept. 2.
On Friday Aug. 5, Corrie airs at these times across the country:
- PEI/Nova Scotia/Ontario/Quebec: 5 p.m.
- New Brunswick: 6:30 p.m.
- Newfoundland: 7 p.m.
- Manitoba: 4 p.m.
- Saskatchewan/Alberta/North: 3 p.m.
- British Columbia: 2 p.m.
The Aug. 5 show will also repeat at midnight (12:30 a.m. in Newfoundland).
Sunday viewers are in for a marathon treat. Two 10-episode omnibus editions will air at 7 a.m. (7:30 a.m. in Newfoundland) on Aug. 28 and Sept. 4.
Coronation Street will return to its regular schedule on Sept. 5, with one exception — the show will air at 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 because of the Rio 2016 Paralympics.
Viewers can also watch online anytime. Shows are available after their weekday broadcast.
