Police have identified a woman who was found dead on a rural road near Chestermere, Alta., on Friday.

The body of Jennifer Ashley Foley, 29, was found on Range Road 284 north of Chestermere Boulevard, police said in a release on Tuesday. An autopsy was completed on Monday. 

Foley was from the Calgary area, police said, and investigators are trying to determine her whereabouts in the weeks that led up to her body being found.

RCMP have released photos of Foley in the hopes that friends or family will recognize her. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chestermere RCMP at 403-204-8900, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Chestermere is located just east of Calgary.
