Calgary's Big Rock Brewery has chosen British Columbia as a location for its new facility.

The Alberta beer maker has been eyeing the lucrative, but crowded B.C. market for some time.

Brewmaster Paul Gautreau says Big Rock's new facility will produce favourites such as Grasshopper and Traditional Ale, but will also develop new beers specifically for B.C. beer drinkers. It will likely be located in B.C's lower mainland and should be open by the end of 2014.
