Here's what you need to know as you head out for your morning commute in Calgary.

Week begins with a high of 19, possible showers this afternoon

Good morning, Calgary! It's partly cloudy and 11 C at 6 a.m. Here's what's happening in your city this morning.

Weather

We're expecting showers off and on throughout the day today with a high of 19 C in the forecast.

Overnight, the low drops down to 8 C. Tomorrow, we'll see similar conditions with a risk of showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon and a high of 17 C.

The normal high for this time of year is 22 C.

Traffic

News headlines

A man in his late 30s is dead after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Edmonton Trail at 25th Avenue N.E. last night. The man was was pulled out from under the SUV but was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, a man in his early 40s, was not injured in the crash. Police are investigating the cause of the collision.

Environment Canada issued dozens of warnings for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes over the long weekend. That sent weather photographers into a frenzy as they tried to find the perfect storm. Some even travelled from as far away as Oklahoma. But Environment Canada's senior climatologist David Phillips says the severe weather could be short-lived. Despite the stormy long-weekend, Phillips says there's no indication that the conditions will continue through the summer.
