Calgary French consulate closes its doors
France is in process of reorganizing its consular network
The French consulate in Calgary closed Saturday and those requiring consular services there will now have to travel out of the province.
French nationals living in Alberta and Saskatchewan will no longer be able to go to the consulate for help with passports or national identity cards.
Instead, they are being advised to contact the consulate general of France in Vancouver for administrative services.
France is reorganizing its consular network and the Calgary closure is a result of this process.
