CBC Calgary's Sid the Shrub could use more of your Christmas decorations
Drop off a festive ornament at CBC Calgary on Veterans Place N.W.
The Calgary Eyeopener's resident festive plant is nearly ready for the holiday season — and needs your help.
Sid the Shrub, as the bush outside the CBC Radio studio is dubbed, is now strung with lights and adorned with bulbs and other pretty trinkets dropped off by listeners last winter.
Co-host Angela Knight started decorating the feisty bush Monday morning after digging out the lights and ornaments.
"They're so beautiful," she said. "I have to be careful where everything goes. I have to think it through."
Knight encourages all listeners to hang an ornament over the next few weeks leading up to Christmas. The shrub is outside the windows of the studio, which is at 1000 Veterans Place N.W. in Calgary, just off Bowness Road.
Sid is the only shrub along that stretch with lights. It's the one with multiple moose ornaments, including one tucked inside a Tim Hortons cup. There's also a big blue bulb a listener kindly hand-painted to read, Sid.
