Dog day event raises $800 for Calgary Humane Society
It was a good time to wear rubber boots at the pool Monday evening as four of the city's outdoor pools went to the dogs to mark their official closing for the season.
This is the fourth year the Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pools Association has organized Dog Day, a charity event that allows four-legged friends of Calgarians to enjoy the warm waters of the public pools.
Over 300 dogs participate each year, raising roughly $800 for the Calgary Humane Society.
Don't worry, this happens only after the pools close for the season. The pools will be thoroughly cleaned before the next summer.
