Filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk profiles workers in B.C. and Alberta

Employment Matters, an Absolutely Canadian documentary on CBC Gem, explores the untapped potential of employing people with intellectual disabilities and the impact they can have on their workplaces.

Filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk profiled individuals in B.C. and Alberta in a variety of jobs, including at a bakery, a horse stable and a homemade popcorn enterprise.

As she follows them in their daily routines and talks to their families and employers, she discovers how much working means to the employees she's profiling and how much they contribute to their workplaces.
