Worker in critical condition after being trapped under lawn mower in Surrey park pond

Surrey RCMP have not yet said how the man and the lawn equipment ended up in the water.

A worker was injured in Surrey after witnesses said he ended up trapped under a piece of lawn maintenance equipment in a pond.

RCMP are releasing few details at this time, but call the incident, "a serious accident," and say that the man was using the piece of equipment when he and it ended up in the water at Glenwood Park in Surrey.

Paramedics say the victim was transported to hospital in critical condition to be treated for, "a traumatic injury."

A co-worker and a bystander pulled the machine off the man, got him to shore and started CPR until paramedics arrived, witnesses said.
