Wimbledon champion Vasek Pospisil r​eturned to his home turf at Kitsilano Beach Park tennis courts on Tuesday. 

The tennis champ, who won the Wimbledon men’s doubles title in 2014 with his American partner, played on the Vancouver tennis court as a junior. His family moved from Vernon, B.C. so that he could pursue his tennis career.

Pospisil was honoured with a plaque celebrating his tennis accomplishments. 

"I've played on a lot of tennis courts in my career There are few courts and supporters like here in my community in Kitsilano where I've spent so many hours playing with my dad," Pospisil said.
