Some relief — however small — is in the weather forecast for Metro Vancouver and the rest of B.C. in this unusually dry, hot summer.

There's a 30 per cent chance of rain in the Lower Mainland on Sunday, growing to 60 per cent overnight, said Environment Canada.

It may drop only about 2 mm in total in Vancouver, said meteorologist Lisa Coldwells, but that is enough to "freshen things up."

The forecast has been cause for celebration on social media for normally rain-weary Vancouverites.
