Vancouver Police are asking for victims and witnesses to come forward after a man was seen groping a number of women downtown Tuesday evening.

Around 5 p.m., a 911 caller reported seeing a man on Davie Street, between Granville and Burrard Street, sexually assault a number of women by groping them.

The man was described as an Aboriginal man in his 30s, around 5 feet 6 inches tall. He had black hair, brown eyes and had a small scar on his right cheek. He was also wearing a black coat, jeans and white running shoes.

Officers arrested a man matching that description close to the area. The women who were the victims of the attack could not be located.

Police are asking anyone who has information about these sexual assaults to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-2634 or Crime Stoppers.
