From a blazing fire at Tent Island, B.C., to the first September sunset on Stoney Lake near Lakefield Ontario — each tweet to #GordDowniesCanada is a stunning image of Canada.

Often, the image includes a line or two from the iconic Canadian singer's lyrics.

It's the latest in a series of heart-rending tributes — from fan tattoos to fond wishes from others with brain cancer — to the lead singer of the Tragically Hip.

Downie has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of incurable brain cancer.

The popular singer sang his heart out on a cross-country tour, raising money for cancer research through the website, In Gord We Trust.

In Vancouver, a Tragic Tribute will feature 30 Tragically Hip songs performed at the Rickshaw Theatre, Sept. 2 to raise more money for the Cancer Foundation.
