An estimated 40,000 customers were left in the dark in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, and others affected were in Delta, Langley and Surrey.
BC Hydro's website says a "transmission circuit failure" was responsible for the massive power outage.
It says the power outage started shortly after 1:30 p.m. PT.
