2 found dead in 'suspicious' Surrey house fire

Police say the scene of the fire in the 17400 block of 28B Avenue will be cordoned off for a “significant” amount of time.

Homicide investigators have been called to the scene of a house fire in South Surrey after two people were found dead on Thursday afternoon. 

RCMP discovered the bodies inside the home in the 17400 block 28B Avenue just after 2:45 p.m. PT, according to a statement. 

The fire was deemed suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to take over the investigation.

Police said the area would be cordoned off for a "significant" amount of time. IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang said investigators would be working at the property overnight and into Friday.
