#snowswimchallenge turns SFU swim team into social media darlings

What's worse than swimming in cold water? Swimming in cold snow! 0:45

Wearing only the smallest of speedos, the SFU swim team decided to forego the cold water of the pool for the even colder snow of the football field earlier this week on Burnaby Mountain.

The result is a hilarious — and literally bone chilling video — that's been liked and shared thousands of times on social media.

Swimmer Rolando Hernandez came up with the snow swim idea.

"It didn't feel that bad at first because it was fun and a thrill," he said.

"But then it got really cold."

Brrrr.
