Roderick Bruce Cortner ID'd as man found dead on grounds of UBC president's home

The B.C. Coroner's Service has identified Roderick Bruce Cortner as the man whose body was found on the grounds of the UBC president's residence.

Foul play has been ruled out as the cause of death

Roderick Bruce Cortner was identified as the 66-year-old man whose body was discovered on the grounds of the UBC president's home. (VPD)

The B.C. Coroner's Service has identified Roderick Bruce Cortner as the 66-year-old Vancouver man whose body was found on the grounds of UBC president Arvind Gupta's residence. 

Cortner's body was discovered by a university staff member April 9th on the grounds of Norman Mackenzie House.

Initially police said the death appeared to be suspicious, but the coroner's service says foul play has been ruled out and Cortner likely died April 8. 

Cortner was the subject of a missing persons release on April 6th. He was last seen in the area of East Cordova Street and Gore Avenue around 4:30 a.m. on April 5th.
