Prince George Mountie charged with assault
A Prince George, B.C., RCMP officer has been charged with assaulting a restrained hospital patient.
RCMP Sgt. Rob Vermeulen said the alleged incident happened last November at Prince George Regional Hospital.
"A couple of [RCMP] members were called to the hospital to assist with a man reportedly verbally abusive and combative, so the officers did assist staff in securing the male."
Police say the alleged assault occurred when one officer was left behind with the patient in restraints.
Const. Chris Emon has been charged with assault. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in August.
