Crews are searching for a missing 76-year-old woman who has gone missing in freezing temperatures on the North Shore.

Joan Warren left her seniors' residence in the 900 block of Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver at 9 a.m. PT Friday morning. She suffers from dementia.

With temperatures below freezing, RCMP and North Shore Rescue say they are worried about her well-being and are asking area residents to check their carports, garages, and yards.

Members of North Shore Rescue are searching in the Lynn Canyon area.

Warren is described as a Caucasian female, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and slim.

She was last seen wearing a turquoise jacket and black pants and is capable of walking unassisted.
