Vancouver is going on 25 days without rain and counting, and with more dry weather in the forecast the dry spell could break all-time monthly records, says CBC News Meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

The record to beat for the driest July is trace amounts of rain in 1985. The dry spell could also break the record for the greatest number of sunshine hours for the month — 388 hours in 1985.

The dry run is forecast to continue through to the weekend, but there is a chance of showers from Sunday through Tuesday. Temperatures will also be warming beginning mid-week, but no soaking rain in the long-range forecasts
