Langley man struck, killed by train
Police in Langley, B.C., are investigating after a man was hit and killed by a train early Saturday morning.
Langley RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a CN train just before 2 a.m. PT.
Staff Sgt. Kevin R.J. Wass said the man was struck by a westbound train when he inadvertently stood in its path.
The 50-year-old Langley resident was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Wass said the man had been drinking with friends for most of the night, though it is not clear how he came to be in the train's path.
CN Rail and the B.C. Coroner's Service are investigating.
