Child dies after being hit by car in Kelowna

Police say they responded to a call from Emergency Health Services shortly after 2:45 p.m. about a collision between a vehicle and the child on McCurdy Road, near the intersection with Findlay Road.

RCMP in Kelowna, B.C., say a child has died after being struck by a car on Sunday. 

Police say they responded to a call from Emergency Health Services shortly after 2:45 p.m. about a collision between a vehicle and the child on McCurdy Road, near the intersection with Findlay Road. 

RCMP say the scene of the crash is currently closed off. Investigators are seeking witnesses and canvassing the area for any potential video surveillance. 

"This is a tragic incident, and our condolences are with the family of the deceased," says Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy in a written statement.  "We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward and speak with us."
