Jonathan Bacon murder trial set for April 2016
Red Scorpion gangster was shot dead outside Kelowna's Delta Grand hotel in August 2011
The trial date for the three men accused of killing gang leader Jonathan Bacon three years ago outside a resort in Kelowna has been set to start April 4, 2016.
Jujhar Khun-Khun, 25, of Surrey, Michael Kerry Hunter Jones, 25, of Gibsons, and Jason Thomas McBride, 37, of North Vancouver have each been charged with one count of first-degree murder. They have also been charged with four counts each of attempted murder and three firearms offences.
The trio has been in custody since they were arrested in February 2013.
Bacon was killed outside the Delta Grand hotel in Kelowna after a masked gunman armed with an automatic weapon opened fire on a group of people inside a Porsche Cayenne SUV.
Bacon was confirmed dead at the scene, and four others were wounded by bullets.
The shooting was linked to a bloody gang war between Bacon's Red Scorpions gang and its rival, the UN gang.
