IHIT called to suspicious death in Coquitlam, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called to a suspicious death in Coquitlam, B.C. Thursday afternoon. 

Coquitlam RCMP say the situation in Westwood Plateau on Alpine Lane near Bobcat Place has been contained.

Those who lived on Alpine Lane were shocked to see yellow police tape up and officers checking everyone for ID to prove they lived behind the taped area. 

Raymond Chow got a call from his wife at work at around 5 p.m. PT, telling him about the flurry of police activity in their residential neighbourhood.

"I've been here 20 years ... first thing happen like this," he said. 

Police have said the investigation is in an early stage and IHIT will provide an update on Friday.
