A 66-year-old grandmother claimed her cheque with a big smile after winning just under $3.2 million dollars.

"I can't believe my eyes," said Anne Ip of Burnaby.

"I'm overwhelmed. It's unreal after you discover you've won this much money," said Ip, adding she plans to buy a new car and possibly a new house.

Her ticket, purchased at the lottery retailer in Lougheed Mall, matched all six numbers on the August 14 Lotto 6/49 draw to win the $3,197,183 million jackpot.

Two other British Columbians won major prizes on the August 14 draw. Tickets sold in Chilliwack and Victoria matched five out of the six numbers on the same draw to win $114,185.10 each.
