Human remains found in burned-out car
Police in Abbotsford, B.C., are investigating the discovery of human remains in a burned-out car.
Police say they received a call Thursday afternoon from a resident in the area of the 400 block of Gladwyn Road, in a rural area of blueberry fields about three kilometres south of Highway 1.
"Our first member on scene determined the vehicle had been burned out and upon closer inspection located human remains inside," said Const. Ian MacDonald of Abbotsford police.
"Our patrol division, major crime unit, forensic identification unit and the [Lower Mainland's] Integrated Homicide Investigation Team are all on scene at this point," MacDonald said.
The car was not on fire when police arrived, he said.
MacDonald said the investigation was in its preliminary stages and no further details were available.
