Some Chilliwack farmers have lost crops and valuable farmland to the rising Fraser Valley floodwaters, the CBC's Tim Weekes reports

B.C.'s central and northeastern interior could be hit with another 15 to 30 millimetres of rain on Thursday and Friday, Environment Canada is warning.

The affected area extends from Williams Lake and the Cariboo north through Prince George and Fort St. John up to Fort Nelson.

Areas hit by thunderstorms could get up to 25 millimetres in a single hour, officials in the Peace River district are warning.

In recent weeks heavy rain has flooded  several parts of the region and high streamflow advisories remain in effect for the Peace River and Upper Fraser Valley Region.

New advisory issued for Chilcotin and Bella Coola

The centre also issued a new high streamflow advisory for the Chilcotin Region, including areas west of Williams Lake to the Coast Mountains, and the Bella Coola River.

"River levels have been rising in response to this precipitation, and are expected to continue to rise through Thursday. Small rivers may peak Thursday, and larger rivers are expected to peak on Friday," said the advisory issued on Thursday.

In Prince George evacuation orders remain in place for eleven homes on Farrell Street and a local state of emergency remains in effect.

Rising waters on the Fraser River near Mission were expected to peak on Thursday morning, but more heavy rain is in the forecast. (CBC)

A local state of emergency in the Peace River Region was cancelled by the regional district on Tuesday.

Highway 52 near Tumbler Ridge remains closed due to a washout, and there are still long delays along Highway 97 in the Peace as crews clean up damage from earlier floods.

Further west, Highway 20 has been closed east of Bella Coola because of a rock slide.

In the Fraser Valley east of Vancouver a high streamflow advisory is also in place for the Lower Fraser River and some flooding was reported on farmland in the Mission area as the river peaked below flood levels on Thursday morning.
